The Little Things

While I took a 'social media break' my life did go on. I did absolutely work on my shop, working helped take my mind of things. Although it felt frozen at times and hard at times...life moved on and I actually had much more time to do some very enjoyable things such as:

Organize my cabinets and realize my cup addition.

Paint in my art journal a little.

Take silly photos of Penelope (like I don't do that normally or anything)

Drank lots of naked.

Read the Hunger Games because I like to jump on bandwagons and become obsessed like the rest of you fools.

Penelope got to add a new lalaloopsy to her ever-growing collection.

Ballet ballet ballet.

Found a magic floor. Okay not magic but pretty.

Penelope and I also went down to Houston Texas (my home town) to visit my family and escape from real life a little (Josh stayed in Tulsa because of work but we missed him so much). We conquered Houston by:

Playing with Penelope's Auntie (one of my sisters).

Riding a ferris wheel, which I kindly just watched because I'm kind of terrified of them. Penelope rode with her grandpa.

Enjoyed spring.

Went to see Penelope's Uncle (my little brother) play Beast/Prince in his high school's musical 'Beauty and the Beast.' It was so good and I cried because I was so proud of him.

Went to visit Penelope's Auntie Kristina (my sister who's a third grade teacher) and her classroom where Penelope held my sister's class pet a bearded dragon.

Went shopping and lunch dates with Penelope's Grammy (my mom) and had a wonderful time.

My mom and I took Penelope out for cupcakes where we sampled six different flavors (from Frost Bakery in the Woodlands, TX).

A family friend who is a lovely photographer asked to take photos of Penelope for her portfolio and of course we said yes. Then, she showed up with real live bunny rabbits and Penelope was in love. Can't wait to see how those all turned out.

Some other eventful moments were:

Listening to Penelope beg me to take her to California to see some of our best friends who are having a baby really soon, but really she just wants to go to Disneyland.

We rearranged our house a little and I loved the fresh new feeling.

Went to the aquarium. Twice. I'm obsessed with fish.

Stayed up way to late at the Hunger Games midnight showing with my sister. It's true.

As for the Hunger Games, thanks for pointing out that capitol city injected those young fellas with drugs to prevent facial hair growth. I don't know how I missed that when I read it. Good to know.

Although it was a tough little time for me and my family this last month I did what I could to stay positive, tried my best to not be stressed about things, took time to enjoy important moments with my husband and Penelope as well as the rest of my family and did everything I could to relax which I'm not very good at.  I think part of the reason I wanted to take a break (other than the part where I was mentally checkout for a bit) was that blogging had become a big stressor for me. I believe now that by removing some barriers and blogging purely and naturally I will enjoy it so much more.

I HAVE to tell you THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for your kind kind words and supportiveness for my very open post from yesterday. I was teary eyed reading all of your sweet words and well wishes. Even my grandma commented! Love you Grandma Faye. I was honestly frightened to share that kind of post with you. I wasn't sure what you would think of my change and sharing such a personal and difficult time with you. I have received several emails from women who are also suffering from PCOS and even a couple of emails from women who have recently gone through a cancer scare as well. I can't wait to sit down and respond to all of those emails. My heart goes out to all of you and I'm so happy to feel not-so-alone in all of this. I was quite aware that many women (people in general) go through things like this all the time and sometimes the outcome is quite worse but it's been such a comfort to read real women's responses and emails to it all. I'm just overwhelmed with love and kindness right now and I'm getting all choked up even writing this. Can we all just group hug?  Come on virtual hugs all around here.

Just thank you thank you thank you. I can't say it enough. Now here a video that's going to make you all smile...

Love,
   Erin

  12. I know that this is like four months too late, but I wanted to let you know that I jsut found your blog. I love the crafts and the fashion. I love that your fashion is from real stores that I frequent which makes your fun style achieveable for me. I too was diagnosed with PCOS (in 2007), Go Cysters! I was about to conceive my son through fertility treatments and we're in the thick of things now trying to conceive lucky #2. I look forward to following you, your family, your crafts and your obsessions!
