I do hope you are all having a great holiday weekend. We've been doing all of our last minute easter preparation. By that I mean, I ventured out into the wild Walmart to grab a few last minute things for the basket because I just realized Easter was this week. I know I know. I'm kicking myself for not thinking sooner so that I could have ordered some educational or fun handmade goodies for her basket but no I failed. However, we did have a full afternoon of making bunny cupcakes and dying eggs. I even convinced Josh to join in on the fun. He tries to pretend he doesn't like this sort of thing but he totally dug it.
My mother-in-law picked up this bunny cupcake kit from Target a few weeks ago for Penelope and I to make. Can you tell which ones I made and which ones Penelope made? She kept saying her bunnies 'looked sad.' Cracks me up.
Then we painted and dyed our eggs. We picked up these little dying sticks (they look like Q-tips) to draw on the eggs and I think that was our favorite part.
We made a big mess.
Then Penelope killed a bunny.
Man, she's so mean for eating that bunny.
I kid. I kid.
Tomorrow Penelope sings in her first play at church. I am ready to place bets one of these things happening during the play:
a) She plays air guitar
b) She sees me and waves frantically 'hi mommy hi mommy!!'
c) Lifts her dress up to play with her belly button
d) All of the above
Penelope being four is really quite fun but now we're stepping into new territory, registering for pre-k, ballet, plays, sports. I'm always thinking about all the chaos she's going to cause being that she's very rambunctious. It's always entertaining to say the least and I love every minute of it.
So I hope you really are having a great weekend. May you hunt only the best easter eggs in town.
Happy Easter!
Love,
Erin

ReplyDeleteSo very sweet Erin! Penelope is ruthless when it comes to bunny cupcakes. That is completely understandable. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter to you and your family!
Love your new header, and your weekend looks fabulous. Those "sad bunny" cupcakes are cracking me up!
ReplyDeleteLooks like so much fun! Your blog, shop, and family are beautiful. :) I can't wait to do things like this with my daughter. She's only (almost) 5 months old, but I know the day when we're decorating Easter eggs together will come so quickly!!
