This past week has been one serious whirlwind. As soon as we got to Houston is one long DIY party to get ready for my brother and future sister-in-law's wedding shower, thrown by my sisters, family friends and me. We started planning this party months ago and we knew it was one of the only get-togethers we could have for them down in Houston because they are getting married up in Virginia in about a month-and-a-half. Thursday we started baking, making giant tissue poms, hanging lanterns, finishing up tissue pom napkin rings, making cheesecake pops, hanging streamers, making table runners and arranging tons of flowers. It was a lot of work, at some point I think I thought to myself 'why did we decide to do all of this?' Then, the shower was so sweet and Emily (my almost sister-in-law) was showered with tons of gifts, she had a huge smile on her face the entire time and I *knew* it was all worth it. I am really looking forward to adding another sister to our family.
I'm still going through the 700+ photos I took at the shower. I'll share it all later this week. Tomorrow we head back to our home in Tulsa. We've been away for what feels like a month and we are looking forward to sleeping in our own beds. I had such a good little vacation with Josh and Penelope...why can't life just be one big vacation? One can only dream.
See you soon!
