On Columbus day we went out for a picnic while Penelope was out of school. The weather was great, not too cold or windy and very very sunny. We went to this little park that has a pond and had some soup, sandwiches and pie (well Penelope ate most of the pie) and then went on a nature trail around the pond. The trail was enclosed with trees and the trail was covered in fallen leaves and moss. It was enchanting, like a little secret trail into the enchanted forest (I watch too many kid movies with Penelope). I loved it. I wonder what the trail looks like covered in snow. I want to go back and maybe take maternity photos later on in the winter. From what I've heard New England (at least in northern Mass and New Hampshire) isn't having as gorgeous of a fall as they usually do. I think it's because it got cool and then hot and then cool again. The leaves are all turning at different times and the leaves aren't as vibrant as they usually are. Not like I would know. I am still loving it and I think it's still gorgeous. I'm waiting for it to get super cold so I can start drinking hot coffee. Is anyone else like that? I can't drink hot coffee (only iced) unless it's really really cold out. There's this amazing little gelato/hot chocolate place near our town that only serves hot chocolate when it's really really cold and it's the BEST hot chocolate I've ever had. I can't wait to have some again. It's like dessert in a cup. I just wanted to share some photos of what fall is looking like up here compared to what it was like in Oklahoma and Missouri. It's very pretty and there are so so sooo many trees up here. Loving it.
