It's time People.

It's almost time (unless he came in the last 48 hours since I have this post scheduled! ha) and I'm so happy and excited. This photo above is 38.5 weeks and today I'll be just a day shy of 39 weeks. His delivery is scheduled for Monday and I'm nervous and thrilled all at the same time. For health reasons last pregnancy I had to have a c-section and for the same reasons I'll need to have one again. I'm thankful for modern medicine (even though I'd love to have just gone mid-wife and a birthing center style) because it saved mine and Penelope's life last time. I had a perfectly pleasant pregnancy with her and a very healthy pregnancy with Emerson so I expect things to go well Monday but you never know. I'm looking forward to seeing what color hair he has, what his face looks like and baby head smell (you mommas know what I'm talking about). Recovery will be tough but doable and I'm looking forward to late night snuggles, nursing and the crazy road I'm about to take. I've waited YEARS for this and I mostly can't believe it's really happening. It doesn't feel real to me.

Praying and hoping for a sweet, healthy and handsome baby boy to come (and healthy delivery and recovery). It's time!

Love,
  Erin

  9. I've only commented a few times, but I adore following your blog. A St. Patrick's Day baby! It is a fun day to be born on - I know this as it is my birthday today. Wishing you a wonderful day getting to finally meet your baby boy. I found my 2nd c-section much easier because I was rested as it was planned, unlike the 1st which we labored through and *then* had a c-section. Hopefully the same can be said for you! Great picture by the way, the wave in your hair is enviable! Is there a secret? I tend to be a frizz head naturally or smoothed out with a straightener - but rarely anything in between. Not that you'll have time to answer that - given how you will be snuggling with your new babe and all :)
